What is background noise removal

Ambient noises are all the unwanted sounds inevitably recorded along with the "main" soundtrack: background hums and sounds of nature, air conditioning, street traffic, etc. The best way to avoid them is to record your shooting in a sound-proof studio, but, of course, it’s not always possible.

That’s when noise reduction gets into the game. Lots of online tools and desktop applications can clean up audio. Smart algorithms effectively detect background sounds and eliminate them, making human speech clean and comprehensive.

Clideo’s Video Editor may be used as a noise cleaner for a video with some talk, but it’s much more than that. This online tool provides a "turn-key" video file editing. You can also create a project from scratch even if you don’t have any initial assets, as you can avail of inbuilt stock libraries or record video and/or audio right in the tool.

Follow this short instruction and perform an AI audio cleanup in three steps.

  1. Upload or create a recording

Open the Video Editor in any browser. Hit the "Get started" button to open the editing pane.

    Now you have several options:

    • Click the "+" icon to upload a recording from your device.
    • Select one of the cloud storages on the bottom pane of the "Media" tab.
    • Avail of inbuilt video and audio stock libraries.
    • Hit the "Record" button and create the clip from scratch.
  2. Remove background noise from the audio

Click the video file on the timeline to open its settings. Go to the "Audio" tab and toggle the "Noise reduction" switch.

You can also add other files and edit your project in various ways: set its aspect ratio, change files’ orientation, volume, color scheme, etc.

You may also add captions from the "Text" tab for even better accessibility.

Don’t hesitate to try out all the functions, as you can easily undo every action with the help of "Ctrl + Z" hotkeys or by clicking the left-faced arrow at the top of the screen.

  3. Save the project

Give your project the final run to make sure that the speech is clean and the project looks exactly like you want. Then hit the "Export" button and select an output resolution.

When the recording is processed, save it to the chosen location or return to the editing page.
