How to make a video from pictures for free in 3 steps

It’s an easy, sure-fire way to get your content looking tip-top before posting on Facebook or Instagram.

While making a YouTube video from pictures and audio or just a video with your best memories doesn’t sound like a straightforward thing to do, there is a super quick and easy way around it.

Our nifty tool works from any browser, meaning you don’t have to download any third-party apps. What’s more, it works on all platforms, from iPhone and Android to Mac and PC, so just about anyone can use it.

Read our 3-step how-to below to find out how.

  1. Upload your pictures

To get started in turning your still image into the magical world of moving image, head over to Clideo’s Picture to Video Maker and click "Get started".

To upload the photos of your choice to the tool, simply tap the blue "+" button at the top left.

Alternatively, you can tap one of the social media icons in the "Media" tab to upload your photos directly from a cloud storage account on Dropbox, Goofle Photos, or Google Drive.

  2. Make a video with pictures and a song

You can add more files to your movie timeline. If you want to add videos and GIFs, too, that’s also possible. Simply hit the "+" button again.

Now, you can change the order in the timeline to create your own video story. Also, select an aspect ratio preset from the "Canvas" tab — they are compatible with many social media platforms. Additionally, tap any of the images in the timeline to adjust its cropping, color, timing settings.

The best part, however, is the ability to add some audio to give your fresh movie a backing track. Upload your own track or select one from the "Audio" tab. Be sure to tap the "Split" icon at the top left of the timeline to trim the desired running length and also set the volume level.

You’ve nearly done. Finally, click the "Export" button and choose an output resolution.

  3. Preview and download

You shouldn’t have to wait too long until your new video is ready to save back to your device. Once it’s done processing, give it a preview. If it’s to your liking, hit the "Download" button. Or — again — save it directly to a cloud storage account.

If you want to make some changes, simply select the "Edit" option, and you’ll be taken back to the previous step without having to start from scratch.
