How to put a video in Google Slides

Nowadays, we do many things online, including attending classes or work meetings. In these cases, all sorts of presentations are often used, and many understand that they should be diversified to deliver information better. For example, embedding a video in a slideshow can be useful for instructions, screen recording, or even evoking certain emotions.

Never inserted a video into your Google Slides presentation? It only takes a few clicks.

  1. Navigate to the slide you want to place the video on.
  2. Choose the Insert option from the top menu, then select Video.

It should be noted that this way you can only insert a link (for example, a video from YouTube) or a file from Google Drive.

Do you need to make a video and add it to your presentation? No problem! You can do this with our online editor and immediately send the result to Google Drive to make embedding easier. The editing process is quite simple, just take a look at the steps below:

  1. Add files

Open Clideo’s Online Video Editor and click "Get started".

Click the + icon to add all the files needed. You can choose them from your device, Google Photos, Google Drive, or Dropbox.

  2. Make a video

Change the aspect ratio in the "Canvas" tab by applying one of the presets available.

If you want several images on the screen simultaneously, place them on the timeline one above another and change their position or size in the preview, depending on which image should be more visible in case of overlaying.

To modify the video, select it in the timeline and apply some of the various options in the tab above. There you can adjust colors, apply blur or transparency, etc.

You may also want to add music, sound effects, and captions. For the former, simply place the audio file above the video fragment where it should play. For the latter, use any preset in the "Text" tab, then write and edit the text according to your taste.

When you finish editing, click "Export" and choose your preferred export option.

  3. Download the video

Watch the preview to see if the result looks good. To add changes, click "Edit". And if everything is okay, hover over the arrow on the "Download" button to upload the video straight to Google Drive.
