How to add sound to a video

For example, they might insert a click sound effect when the author of the video randomly tries to hit the right button. Or the bell ding sound effect when they remind you to subscribe to receive notifications.

If you want to add such sounds to your videos too, you can check out stock sound effects sites like Pixabay. There you can find many background sound effects and music free for download.

And when you find all the sound effects for video editing you like, you will have to apply them, with which our online editor will help you! Using it, you just need your media files and an Internet connection to create videos at any time and on any device.

It's also easy to work with:

  1. Add files

Open Clideo’s Online Video Editor and click "Get started".

Click the + icon to add media files from your device, Google Photos, Google Drive, or Dropbox.

  2. Add sound effects

To start working with the files, add them from the "Uploads" to the timeline or preview area.

If you need to change the aspect ratio, apply one of the presets available in the "Canvas" tab depending on the platform to which you want to upload your video.

To add sound fxs, place the audio file above the video fragment where it should play. And if the video is louder than the effect, use "Split" on the clip so you can separate and remove the sound in the "Volume" tab for this specific part without muting the rest of the video.

If you think the sound starts and ends too abruptly, you can click on the audio file and apply fade-in and fade-out effects to make it begin and end gradually.

When you finish editing, click "Export" and choose the export option you like.

  3. Save the result

Watch the preview to see if everything looks good in the final video. To add more changes, click "Edit", otherwise, download it to your device or cloud storage.
