How to change the file format in a free audio converter

To change a format, it’s not enough to rename the file and save it with a new extension, you’ll need a special audio file converter. Luckily, there are various solutions to suit every taste.

Clideo’s service is not just an online audio converter: the tool works with numerous video, audio, and image formats, both as inputs and outputs. For audio, to name a few, it may be AAC, WMA, MP3, OGA, and others.

The service is web-based, so it works from the browser, and you just need a fast and stable Internet connection. The output will not have a watermark, even if you convert music to a video (in that case the visual part will be just a black screen). You can use the tool right away, without logging in, and process files up to 500 MB for free.

The file converter, like all other Clideo services, is simple to use and intuitively comprehensive. But just in case you need some additional information, here is a short manual.

  1. Upload an audio file

Open the Audio Converter in any browser and hit the "Get started” button.

On the next screen, you can either upload a recording from your local storage, or drag and drop it right on the page.

The tool doesn’t allow bulk file uploading, so if you need to convert several recordings, you should do it one by one.

  2. Convert audio

Click the "Convert to" drop-down menu.

Then hover over the audio icons on the left to see the full list of available outputs.

Choose the one you need and click the gear icon to open additional settings. When converting audio files, you can change audio frequency or modify audio channels (mono, stereo, etc.).

  3. Save the converted file

Click the "Convert" button and let the tool do its job. When the conversion is completed, download the output right away, as it will not be saved in your profile. You can also convert another file or change the settings of the same one.
