How to Make a Karaoke Video

The creation of a custom karaoke for home parties is a new level of video editing. It requires not only developed editing skills but also an advanced karaoke video maker, fit with various editing functions.

Such a project implies working simultaneously on several layers: visual footage, an audio track, and captions. The tool in use should be functional enough to meet these requirements, and still user-friendly, as far as possible.

For example, Clideo’s ultimate video editor. This online service works in a browser and is compatible with all device types and operating systems. The tool has a set of inbuilt libraries that provide additional elements for your projects.

Let’s have a look at how to create a karaoke video with music and lyrics in several steps.

  1. Upload all the elements

Open the Video Editor in your favorite browser. Hit the "Get started" button to open the editing pane.

Click the "+" icon to upload visual and audio files from your device. Alternatively, pick them up from cloud storage accounts or avail of built-in stock libraries. You can also record videos right in the tool.

  2. Make your custom karaoke

Create a karaoke background by placing all the visual files (videos, GIFs, pictures, etc.) on the same timeline track. Open the "Canvas" tab on the left toolbar and set up the aspect ratio. Click each visual separately to edit it, if necessary.

Import the karaoke audio track and place it on another line and make it match the visual part. You can also find some instrumental music in the "Audio" library if you have some lyrics of your own and need a soundtrack for it.

Then open the "Text" tab, select the captions preset, and create lyrics one by one. Fine-tune their timing manually or by filling in the time boxes.

  3. Save your karaoke

When you’re fully done, give your project the final run to check if it’s what you need. If so, hit the "Export" button, choose the output quality and process your karaoke track.

After that, you can either download it or return to the editing panel.
