Resize video to match Pinterest video pin specs

This resource has just provided a new feature – now you can pin not only static pictures, but also recordings. There are certain limits, though, so let's have a quick look at some essential Pinterest video pin specs:

  • Video extension: MP4, MOV, M4V.
  • Maximum file size: 2 GB.
  • Duration: from 4 seconds to 15 mins.
  • Recommended aspect ratio: Square (1:1), Portrait (9:16), 2:3, 4:5.

To find out more details, check the official manual on how to pin a video on Pinterest.

As your video has to meet specific criteria, you have to resize it before posting. And that’s where Clideo service comes in just handy!

You can upload files up to 500 MB for free and process as many projects a day as you want. Clideo works online from a browser, so you don’t have to purchase, install and set up any applications. And last but not least – Clideo never charges you for additional functionality. Just open it and use it right away!

And here is the plan:

  1. Upload a video to the tool

Open Clideo’s Video Resizer in your favorite browser. Make sure the Internet connection is stable and fast. Then upload a video you want to pin, using one of the following ways:

    • Just drag and drop a file on the starting page of the tool.
    • Hit the blue “Choose file” pane and select the recording from your device.
    • Call the drop-down menu on the right side of the pane and import a video from Google Drive or Dropbox.
  2. Resize the video for a Pinterest pin

Go to the "Resize for" section on the right of the player. Select "Pinterest" in the first field and a video type in the second. You may also choose another social medium and its post, or go for the "Custom" option and set the needed aspect ratio.

In that case, you have to enter the video’s width or height, and the second parameter will appear automatically. You may also disable the chain symbol and set both parameters manually, without any aspect ratio assigned.

Then decide on a crop option: you may either fill the frame with an image or fit your recording to the frame. If there are black sidebars left, you can change their color or blur them.

Don’t forget to select a video format before submitting your project. When you are done, hit the “Export” button and wait several moments.

  3. Save the resized video

Give the video the final run to make sure that you like what you got. If so, you can either download it to your device or add it to cloud storage. If you want to delete a tiny watermark or continue editing the same project in other Clideo tools, consider upgrading your account to Clideo Pro.
