How to record a live stream

Live streams are not only gamers' turf. Lots of vloggers stream from time to time to establish closer rapport with their audience, throw a Q&A session, and just have a good time. But are these nuggets of wisdom doomed to be lost? Not at all.

With our online solution, you don't need to buy and install a special streaming video recorder or depend on the mercy of the streamer. Clideo's Video Editor allows you to record the screen, the webcam video, or both, then edit the recording and combine it with other visuals and an audio track, if needed.

To avail of our service, you don't have to sign up or update your account to Clideo Pro, as you'll still have 15 minutes of free recording. But if you need more time, consider purchasing a subscription.

Like other Clideo tools, Video Editor is user-friendly and easy to utilize. But just in case you like reading manuals, here it is.

  1. Open the Editor

Go to Video Editor and hit the "Get started" button.

Then, in the left-side navigation area, find the "Record" icon. If you do not see it, just scroll down a bit. Hit it and choose the "Screen" tile.

  2. Capture the streaming video

If required, select another microphone, in case you have several connected.

Hit the big red circle below the screen and choose the tab or window you want to record. In our case, it will be the streaming screen.

While recording, in the CLideo tab, you can pause or retake the video completely.

When you're done, hit the "Stop" button", rename the project, and decide if you want to add it to uploads or to the timeline of the Editor.

  3. Edit and save the recording

When the recording is transferred to the tool, you can change its playback speed, combine it with audio or other visuals, rotate the frame, or alter the project in any other way.

When finished, hit the "Export" button and choose the output resolution.

Wait till the recording is processed and save it to your device, Google Drive, or Dropbox.
