How to use an online video splitter
It’s not always possible to shoot a perfect video with just the first take, and the more material, the longer it takes to edit it. Therefore, first, video editors might need to split video into parts to cut out the bad takes and leave the good ones, before other changes are applied.
Many novice video makers are interested in how to break up a video into parts if they don’t have a dedicated editor. Fortunately, this is now quite simple. When filming on the phone, they can use native apps and features, and on PC there are plenty of video splitters that can help to quickly deal with it.
If you are looking for such apps, you can try our video cutter. This tool is a pretty straightforward cutter only. And if you’re interested in more options, we also have another tool that provides other features beyond simple video file splitting, so you can edit your video right away in many different ways.
Upload a video
Open Clideo’s Video Splitterand click "Get started".
Then use the "+" icon to pick a clip from your device or upload from one of the clouds. The tool supports many popular formats, so you can split MP4, AVI, MOV files and others.
Split the video into parts
To cut out the fragment you do not need, place the playhead at its starting point, click "Split" above the timeline, then do the same at the end point. After that, select the fragment, click "Delete" and remove any gaps between the remaining pieces.
Note that when any parts are cut, the actual footage remains untouched. If you cut out too much, just drag the yellow handles to reveal the footage you removed. You can also find the original file in the "Media" tab at any time to, for example, cut out another part. This way, you can make as many cuts as you want.
In addition to that, you can apply visual changes to the video fragment. To do so, select a file in the timeline, so the tab with options appears above. There, you can adjust colors, crop the frame, blur the image or make it transparent, etc. You can also set different volume or speed in case some parts of the video need it, and add text or stickers from the "Text" or "Elements" tabs.
When you finish editing, click "Export" at tyhe top right and select your preferred option.
Save the result
Click "Download" to save the part you created. Click "Edit" to return to the previous page, to edit another part you require and repeat the process as many times as needed.
