Split video into equal parts

If you’ve ever wanted to post long videos to your Instagram Stories or carousel feed, then you know the first step is to divide them into parts. However, this can be problematic, especially if you don’t have access to a PC right now and don’t have the right app on your phone. So, how to split a video file into two parts quickly and easily?

We have a solution just for that! It works completely online on any device, so you can use it without any problem on Mac or Windows (10, 8 and 7) as well as on Android or iPhone. It also supports many popular formats, so you’ll be able to split videos in AVI, MP4, MOV, and other formats.

Plus, the tool is simple to use, just follow the steps below!

  1. Upload a video

Open Clideo’s Video Splitter and click "Get started".

Add video to split into equal parts

Use the "+" icon at the top left to to pick a clip from your device or select a file from your Dropbox, Google Drive, or Google Photos account using the panel with extra options in the "Media" tab. Note that you can upload a video up to 500 MB for free.

  2. Split the video in half

To break the clip into two even parts, firstly, select the video in the timeline to see the available editing options and select the "Timing" tab. The timestamps show the exact duration of your video from 0 to 18 seconds in our case.

Enter 00:09:00 into the second box to make the first segment. If you need to fine-tune the ending time, correct the timestamp or use the right yellow handle of the video in the timeline to find the exact final frame manually.

What is perfect about the tool, is that all the changes you make do not actually affect the source video. You are rather "hiding" the footage that you do not need and can at any moment revert to the original one or drag the handle again to "uncut" the frames.

Use the other tabs ("Transform", "Adjust", "Speed", etc.) to edit other video settings. You can also add text, music, stock images, and various elements like stickers, shapes, GIFs to enhance your video in many other ways using the navigation sidebar to the left.

When you finish editing, click "Export" at the top right, choose the output option you need, and hit "Continue".
