How to use an online video meme maker
Memes are the primary mode of communication, an accessible means of self-expression, and an instant source of news for many people.
If you ever wanted to create your own meme video but didn’t know how to do it, it’s actually not hard at all! All you need is a suitable clip that you want to use along with text, and the rest is a breeze – we have just the right tool to help you.
Our meme generator has a very intuitive interface and you can use images or videos of various popular formats to make your meme. If brilliant ideas tend to suddenly pop into your head when you’re away from your PC, it’s not a problem either – the tool can be used on iPhone and Android in the same way without having to download any app. All you need is an Internet connection.
Follow three simple steps to create your own meme video.
Upload a video
Open Clideo’s Video Meme Maker. Then, click the blue “Choose file” button to add a video. On the PC, you can also drag a file to the page directly.
Alternatively, if your clip is stored on Google Drive or Dropbox, hover over the downward arrow on the same button and choose the option you need, then add a file.
On this page, you can also change the meme template before adding a clip – to do so, click on the “change template” link and choose one of the available options.
Edit the video
Once the file is uploaded, you can see a few options on the right side of the editor page.
If you haven’t changed a meme template on the previous page, you can do it here by clicking on the top right button and choosing the option you want.
Below, enter the text into the boxes for top and/or bottom text, depending on the template you’ve chosen. Change the font and alignment if needed.
If you plan to post the end result on some social media page, there is also a “Crop options” section. To change the ratio of the video, select one preset out of four according to your needs (there are presets for posts on social media such Facebook, Instagram and YouTube available). To crop the video, choose the “Zoom & Crop” option, otherwise use the “Fit with border” option so only the ratio will be changed.
If you want to add other background music later or just don’t want the video to have the original sound, check the “Mute video” option.
Once you’ve finished editing, click the “Export” button.
Save the meme video
Here, you can watch the preview to make sure everything looks like you wanted. If you would need to change something, just click on the “Edit” button – it will take you back to the last step before exporting.
Otherwise, click the “Download” button to save the video to your device or cloud storage.
