How to make a video blurry
Another case — you want to use this visual as a background for another one, so a too detailed and clear image will distract viewers from the main subject. Whatever it is, you'll need a fast and handy tool — and we just have one!
Clideo service has a full range of video editing tools, each performing one function. But recently we released a new ultimate all-in-one video editor, which will help you modify your project from A to Z, including a video blur effect.
As always, all Clideo tools work online, so you can work on iPhone, PC, Android, and other devices. Just make sure you have access to the files you want to edit and that your internet connection is fast and stable enough.
You can process files up to 500 MB each without any registration or buying a subscription. But if you plan to use our service often and process large videos, Clideo Pro will make it easier for you.
Here we go!
Upload your visual
Open Clideo's Video Editor in any browser and hit the "Get started" button.
Then click the + icon or the "Upload" button and select the needed file from your device folder, Google Drive, Google Photos, or Dropbox. You can also "drag and drop" your media from the computer folder.
You will find your uploaded files in "Uploads" so don't forget to drag your visual to the timeline or canvas editing area.
Add blur to the video
With the video selected in the timeline, go to the "Adjust" tab, scroll down to the "Blur" slider, and set the level of blurring. If your project consists of several separate elements, you should repeat this flow for each one.
An important note! Unfortunately, at the moment, there is no option to black out a face or blur just part of the visual. But we have a workaround for you!
Go to the "Text" section", select a black capture, add it to the timeline, and make the letters also black. Now you have a black square which you can place over that part you need to hide. To change the size of the "censored" box, type more or fewer letters and change the font size.
Save the project
When you're sure you got what you need, hit the "Export" button and choose the output resolution. The number of available options depends on your Clideo subscription type. Then click the "Continue" button and let the tool process your visual.
When the processing is over, you can give your clip the final run and get back to editing if needed. If you're happy with the result, save it to your device or cloud storage account.
