How to replace video footage without replacing the audio
Video editing is never a simple task, like any other creative job. Things become even more complicated when audio is involved. Usually, the footage and the sound are perfectly matched, so editing only one part of the project will inevitably cause desynchronization.
But not with Clideo Service. Our user-friendly tools allow you to replace a movie with another visual in two clicks without even touching an audio track. Our ultimate all-in-one video editor is the best choice for such a task, as you can edit your media, add text, and use free libraries of visuals, music, stickers, and GIFs.
It works online in a browser, so you should not worry about version compatibility or other technical issues. The service is free, but you can subscribe to Clideo Pro and get additional privileges.
Less talk, more action. Let's check on how to replace clips in three steps.
Extract the sound from the video
Open the Clideo's Video Editor right in the browser, hit the "Get started" button.
Then import your recording from your device or cloud storage accounts. The visual will be placed on the timeline automatically as soon as it's uploaded.
Select your video in the timeline, go to the "Audio" tab, and select the "Extract audio" option. The sound and video tracks will be placed separately in the timeline.
Swap the video
Now, you can replace the video, and the audio will stay immutable.
Click the visual to make it "active". You can delete it and place something new instead (images or another video) or place the white playhead to the point you need and use the "split" option to define the segment you need to replace.
Cut out an "odd" chunk and replace it with another video segment of your choice. Just drag the new chunk into the gap.
Don't forget to try out other editing options. Don't worry, if you go too far and do something you don't like, you can always undo the last action by clicking the tiny left-faced arrow at the top right.
Save the project
Hit the "Export" button and choose one of the available output resolutions.
Then click "Continue" and let the tool do its job. Once the renewed video is processed, you can save it to the chosen location or return to editing.
