How to use Clideo’s Online Video Resizer

So when it comes to resizing video content, users need a quick and easy tool that they can rely on.

Online Video Resizer by Clideo is the perfect solution for this. The video dimension converter’s minimal design makes it super easy for anyone to use, and so you don’t need special movie editing skills to take advantage of it. And because it works through your browser, you don’t need to download or install anything on your device.

  1. Upload your video

Add a video you want to resize with Clideo

To start off, open the resizer in any browser on your iPhone, Android, Mac or Windows device. Select a file that you want to edit by hitting the ‘Choose file’ button.

Alternatively, upload it from Google Drive, Dropbox or via a link from another online service if that works better for you.

  2. Resize your video

Resize your video using a preview

When the file upload has been completed, your clip will be added to the browser in a new page where you can preview it. From here, you can select an area that you want to crop or resize to using either presets, or by fine-tuning it with the position and zoom selectors. Presets include the correct video dimensions for social media apps: YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat, which can be found under the “Crop options” menu, which relate to the cropping presents 16:9, 9:16, 5:4, 1:1.

    Adjust settings for resizing video

If you’re resizing a full width landscape video to use on Instagram Stories or Snapchat, for instance, you can opt to give it a black or white background using the buttons on the Background option on the right-hand side of the editor. There are also editing options to reposition or zoom in or out of the moving image within your chosen crop size, if needed.

When you’re happy with your fresh video size, you can make your changes permanent by simply clicking on the "Resize" button at the bottom right corner of the screen. However, we recommend previewing the movie first by hitting the play button. You also have the option to convert your file via a button on the bottom left. And if you want to save the clip on your Android or iPhone devices, we’d suggest converting it to an MP4 file format for better compatibility. After this, a “processing” screen will appear, and in just a few minutes your new, resized movie will be ready to download back onto your device.

Change the format of your resized video

  3. Download the newly-edited video

Save the resized video to your device

After the processing screen has done its thing, your new file is ready to be saved. Simply click on the "Download" button to save it to your device. If you prefer, you can save it to Dropbox or Google Drive, or watch it online via the browser preview. And that’s it! Your freshly converted video is ready to be used in whichever way you want.
