How to Rotate a Video for Instagram
As most of the users log in to Instagram from their smartphones, a vertical orientation fits the screen better, so if you tend to shoot horizontal recordings, you’ll have to invert them.
Mind that Instagram has restrictions:
- The maximum file size is 4GB;
- Recommended resolutions: 600 x 600, 600 x 315 or 600 x 750 pixels.
If your recording does not meet those requirements, you can compress it first.

Upload a recording to rotate
Open Online Video Rotator by Clideo in any browser. Hit the broad blue pane “Choose file” to upload a recording from your camera roll or any folder.
The tool is compatible with all the popular video formats including MWV, AVI, VOB and others.
Call a drop-down menu and paste a direct URL to rotate an Instagram video without previous downloading. You may also invert clips and films from other Internet sources.
Alternatively, import a file from Google Drive or Dropbox.
Rotate your video to share on Instagram
Rotate a video clockwise or counter-clockwise using arrows. Each click rotates the recording by 90 degrees.
Select an output format – if you want to share your clip on Instagram, hit MP4 or MOV. If you omit this step, the initial extension will be kept.
When you’re done, click “Rotate”.
