How to change the speed of a specific video section
Video speed has a deep impact on the emotional message of the video and its overall mood and atmosphere. This parameter is even more influential when it varies across parts of the recording. For example, you can slow down your video to emphasize the importance of the moment or create tension, or speed the video up at the turning point of the narration.
It has never been an issue to make a video slower or faster, as the market offers a wide variety of such tools. But if you want to change the speed of an exact snippet, you usually have to cut it out of the footage, edit it as needed, and paste it back. This may require using several applications, not to mention the time and effort spent.
Clideo's Video Editor can also perform the functions of a video speed changer (as well as many others). It's an ultimate service that allows performing "turn-key" editing, including video speed changes. The tool works online in a browser and doesn't require registration or logging in.
The service is intuitively comprehensive, but considering its developed functionality and abundance of settings, here is a precise instruction on how to speed up certain parts of a video.
Upload your video to the tool
Open the Video Editor page and hit the "Get started" button.
When transferred to the next screen, import your recording from your local folder or cloud storage account, or record it right in the tool. You can also assemble your project out of videos, photos, and other elements from embedded stock libraries.
Speed up or slow down a part of the video
First, you need to define the sections that need to be modified. Place the white playhead at the starting point of the snippet you want to edit and click the "Split" icon at the top left of the timeline. Do the same at the end of the chosen part.
Then, select the snippet on the timeline to open its settings, go to the "Speed" tab, and set up the speed you need.
There will be an empty space left. Remember to select it and delete it manually.
Save the project
When fully done, hit the "Export" button at the top right and choose the output resolution.
Depending on your subscription type, you’ll have various options. When the project is processed, you can save it to the chosen location or return to the editing screen.
