How to add POV caption to video for TikTok or Instagram
This technique is called a first face or a subjective camera. TikTok has propelled POV videos to new heights. For example, there are recordings with several participants, and the focus is swapping between them. Also, unlike films and clips, social media often require captions for this video type.
Some apps have a built-in feature that allows adding captions after uploading a video. But, first of all, not all of them, and, secondary, sometimes it may be just inconvenient. For example, if you want to create a video "key ready" and post it on multiple platforms without any additional fuss and fiddling.
Another scenario — you'd like to come back to editing later. Or, maybe you prefer working with visuals on a big monitor instead of a small smartphone screen.
In all of these cases, the Clideo video editor will come in just handy. To begin with, it's an ultimate tool that allows you to edit your project in various ways, including adding captions. Secondly, it works online, so you can work on your projects from any device. Last but not least, it's free for files up to 500 MB each.
Add video to the editor
Open Clideo’s Video Editor in any browser.
After hitting the "Get started" button, upload a file from your device, Google Drive or Dropbox.
Then go to the "Canvas" section and choose the 9:16 aspect ratio to make your video meet TikTok specs. Then go back to uploads and drag the file to the timeline.
Add captions
Edit the video as you need: trim, flip, duplicate, adjust its brightness and speed — whatever you want. Then go to the "Text" section and choose the captions type you like.
Press the "plus" sign to add the captions to the timeline, and don't forget to adjust their duration to the recording length and color settings.
Save the project
When you're done, hit the "Export" button and choose the resolution of your video. To get access to the best options, upgrade your account to Clideo Pro. It will also delete our tiny watermark from your projects and allow you to upload files without size limits.
After that, download the video to your device or cloud storage account.
And why not have a look at our Video Editor Help Center to find out more about other features as well.
